Holiday Boat Parades Bring Family Fun to the Coast


In need of another excuse to spend time on the water? Gather the family and head to your local marina, pier or boat launch for a fun, festive lighted boat parade! Lighted boat parades during the holiday season have gained in popularity. All along the coast, boaters line their watercraft with strings of lights, plastic reindeer and even more lights! There's nothing quite like seeing a parade of boats to warm your holiday spirit. Most events also feature fireworks, hot beverages and other family fun events that appeal to everyone.

This free, distinctly California celebration features boats decorated for the annual holiday season that will sail around Mission Bay. A highly anticipated event in the San Diego community, more than 100 vessels take to the water for the parade.

2016 Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade
Dec. 3, 2016, 6 p.m.
A premier event of the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County (MIAPBC) and gift to the community, the 2016 Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade kicks off the holiday season this year on Saturday, December 3rd. The parade, led by a traveling fireworks display navigates up the Intracoastal Waterway from North Palm Beach, south of the North Palm Beach Marina, to the Jupiter Lighthouse. The Parade begins at 6 p.m. and arrives in Jupiter at approximately 8 p.m.

30th Annual Destin Harbor Boat Parade
Dec. 11, 2016
The Destin Harbor will be dancing with holiday lights and cheer during the 30th Annual Destin Boat Parade. Visit with Santa Claus from 12:00-4:00 PM at HarborWalk Village's Main Stage. Boat Parade will light up the harbor beginning at 6:00 PM with fireworks following the parade and firespinning on HarborWalk Village's main stage with Just Add Fire.

Miami Outboard Club Holiday Boat Parade

The annual Holiday Boat Parade was organized by the Miami Outboard Club in 1998 in an effort to attract residents and tourists to Biscayne Bay, Downtown Miami and surrounding areas during the holiday season. Nearly two dozen enthusiastic boat captains joined in the fun, decorating their boats and parading in the Bay waters adjacent to the Club.

Hillsborough River Holiday Boat Parade
Lowry Park Boat Ramp

Paddlers and Boaters alike are welcome and needed for this magical boat parade on the beautiful Hillsborough - anything that floats qualifies! Decorate your boat and put in at Lowry Park boat ramp at 6:00pm to be part of the parade that goes upriver with an incoming tide to the Sulphur Springs City Pool Park off Nebraska Ave. To ensure safety of all participants, paddlers lead this parade, followed by powerboats. Spectators may enjoy the parade of lights over the water -6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at: Lowry Park, from their riverfront docks (riverfront residents are encouraged to decorate their docks and enter their boats in the parade) or at Sulphur Springs City Pool Park - Nebraska Avenue south of Bird St., where there's plenty of parking, room for viewing the parade

The event kicks off with a children's parade through the downtown and lighting of the Town Green, followed by a "Christmas in the City" arts and crafts show throughout the day. The main event is the lighted boat parade that cruises along the waterfront, climaxing with an east Biloxi sky filled with fireworks. The parade travels from the Biloxi Lighthouse to Point Cadet. Cost to enter is $25.
